children of pop is dead. After the Chill Mega Chill release of "Fiesta/Drift" in the Winter of 2013, the project toured as a band off and on + played a few opening slots at some amazing festivals + headlined some less than stellar parties. Spent a ton of $ and hit snooze more still. children of pop spent most of 2015 in the lab w the pen and the pad trying to get this damn label off + recording/producing 3 full length records: 1 as children of pop, another 1 as Get A Life w Yuuki Mathews (The Shins, David Bazan, Sufjan Stevens) and another 1 as Guess Genes w Sergio Trevino (Buxton).
After touring much on 2015 as a duo (TV Girl, George Clanton, + Solo ventures), Chase and Gabriel Lopez, children of pop gave up and died. A sad and lonely, digital, death nobody streamed. Chase needed to take some time and get organized, as joining the Frenchkiss Label Group means I need to wake up early pretty much everyday and squish my keyboard over and over for at least a few years. So, now that the launch is in full swing, I couldn't be more jazzed to be bumping children of pop's sophomore album, "What does 69 mean?"! Releasing quasi posthumously / reincarnate, May 6th 2016 via #veryjazzed, a now subsidiary of the Frenchkiss Label Group / The Orchard. The new children of pop IRL production was first debuted @ Day For Fest (Philip Glass, Nicolas Jaar, Kendrick Lamar), + the project is touring w TV Girll in April + is playing the Festival circuit this summer most notably, Free Press Summer Festival in June.
