Deep Cuts is a sophisticated pop band operating from the balmy metropolitan sprawl of Houston, Texas. Started by songwriters and longtime friends Chase Harris and Zach Alderman, the group underwent a metamorphosis in the early part of 2016, transitioning from frantic Mambo rock at sweaty house shows to bittersweet Salsa ballads in neon-lit clubs. Lead by Harris, a classically trained jazz guitarist, the Deep Cuts sound draws from Sade's silken melancholy, the percussive grooves of Eddie Santiago, and "Avalon" era Roxy Music. After cementing a live lineup replete with sax and liberal electronic percussion, the band toured to New York City and back, premiered the first single of a forthcoming LP, and received national press attention from the likes of Pitchfork and Stereogum. Currently the minds behind Deep Cuts are fast at work hammering out details on their self-produced debut album, which will see release in 2017.
